賣家描述
German Cast Iron Wall Panel – Stove Plate Model Dated 1747 – 19th Century
Large German cast iron panel depicting a lively rural interior scene traditionally associated with the “Spinnstube” theme. Several figures are engaged in domestic activities: spinning wool, preparing food at the table, and gathering in a communal setting. A cross visible on the wall reflects the religious atmosphere typical of Central European homes of the period.
The date 1747 appears in cast relief and forms part of the original mould design. It most likely refers to the date of the original model on which this plate was based.
Originally produced as a stove plate (Ofenplatte), the piece today functions as a strong decorative architectural wall element due to its detailed relief and substantial presence.
A central hole was added later for wall mounting. Minor edge adjustments visible. Solid cast iron with consistent natural age patina.
Germany, 19th century (circa 1850–1900).
Dimensions: 45 x 25 cm
Thickness: approx. 2 cm
Weight: approx. 4.6 kg
A substantial and authentic example of traditional German cast iron craftsmanship, combining historical narrative detail with architectural character.
