Mstera USSR lacquer box - Anoshin - 珠寶箱 - 紙漿藝術 - 铜山夫人
A finely hand-painted Russian lacquer box from the Mstera school, depicting the famous Russian folktale “The Mistress of the Copper Mountain”.
This elegant composition shows the mystical female figure from Ural folklore, richly dressed and surrounded by stylised natural elements and mineral motifs, characteristic of the Mstera tradition. The vivid colors, detailed brushwork and refined gold ornamentation create a strong decorative and collectible piece.
The box is executed in traditional papier-mâché with multiple layers of lacquer, and is signed by the artist Anoshin. The original factory label and card are still present, confirming its Soviet origin.
Mstera lacquer miniatures are known for their softer color palette and narrative scenes, making them distinct from Palekh and Fedoskino works.
A beautiful and authentic example of late Soviet Russian lacquer art, highly suitable for collectors or decorative use.
