賣家描述
These estates are part of the Piedmontese wine history, and their roots run back to the end of the 18th century when the Marquis of Abbateona donated Martinenga to the Grésy family.
The marriage of Carlo di Grésy to Giulia Pellizzari, in 1899, brought as a dowry the lands in the Monferrato area, namely La Serra and Monte Colombo, and it was Carlo di Grésy who had Villa Giulia built on Monte Aribaldo hill.
There is, however, evidence of an earlier acquisition in 1650 of lands near Treiso by the Marquises of Grésy. Regarding the Marchesi di Grésy, we speak of estates because there are in fact four distinct estates, even though the main one remains the splendid vine amphitheatre of Martinenga, in the heart of Barbaresco. The others are Monte Aribaldo, in Treiso, La Serra in Cassine, and Monte Colombo, always adjacent to La Serra.
It was Alberto di Grésy, in 1973, who founded the Cantina Marchesi di Grésy to produce wine from the estate grapes of Tenuta Cisa Asinari, already part of the family and previously sold. His love for this land led him to settle permanently in Martinenga in order to concentrate his efforts and passion in this splendid corner of Barbaresco.
Today the planted area is about 45 hectares of vineyards distributed among the various estates of the Langhe and Monferrato.
Sustainability is now an important point for the Tenuta Marchesi di Grésy, with particular attention to energy savings and to reducing environmental impact; for this reason the barriccaia has been completely underground, achieving, together with a reduction in soil consumption, ideal insulation conditions to always obtain optimal aging conditions.
