Description:
“Toka Senzai no Haru” refers to peach blossoms announcing the arrival of spring for a thousand years, blooming innocently. It indicates a universal and beautiful spring scene and a state of "selflessness" that remains unchanged. In Japan, there is a tradition called "Momonosekku" (Peach Festival) in March to celebrate girls, where hanging scrolls depicting Odairisama and Ohinasama or "Hina dolls" are displayed. It is a major spring event held with wishes for children's health and for them to build happy families.
Artist Profile:
Born in Niigata Prefecture in 1902. After studying Western painting, he acquired Japanese painting techniques. Later, he began painting ink and wash works, focusing on flowers, birds, and figures, holding exhibitions and solo exhibitions. Died in 1994.
