A luxurious desk clock composed of a rare Swiss “Ball Watch” pocket watch by Paul Breguette with an eight-day power reserve, suspended from an elegant putto (cherub) figure. The composition is crafted in gilt bronze (ormolu) and Rouge marble and dates to around 1900. The entire piece is executed in a refined Neoclassical style inspired by Louis XVI, characteristic of decorative salon clocks produced at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The column is decorated with gilt bronze mounts in the form of garlands and vegetal motifs, emphasizing the elegant Neoclassical character of the composition.
