Locality: Beipiao City, Liaoning Province, China Geological Age: Early Cretaceous (approximately 145–125 million years ago) Description: The specimen represents a fossil of Peipiaosteus pani (small Pan fish, Beipiao sturgeon). The body is small and slightly compressed, with well-preserved, regularly arranged scales. Fin rays are intact, with the caudal and pectoral fins displaying clear striated skeletal structures. The head outline is discernible, including the orbital and jaw regions. The fossil is preserved in fine-grained sedimentary rock, with both part and counterpart plates complete, facilitating morphological and phylogenetic studies.
