A nice ammonite cluster I picked up from a collection I bought (estate sale). The collector dug and prepared the specimen himself. Name : Emericiceras emerici & Davidiceras potieri Age: Cretaceous, Barremian Findspot: Méjannes, Gard, France Diameter of the heteromorph ammonite : 16.5 cm . The other one is 7.5 cm Weight : 5.5 kg The digging conditions of those ammonites are very difficult , and they are often dug broken. That one has NO restoration done to the fossils. It is anyway a very stunning specimen, and it is guaranteed completely original.
