一对古董级日本木质漆器碗(Suimono-wan)— 金蒔絵 凤凰与桐 - 木, 漆 - 日本 - 20世紀初

Pair of Antique Japanese Wooden Lacquerware Bowls (Suimono-wan) - Gold Maki-e Phoenix & Paulownia [Object Description] A stunning pair of traditional Japanese wooden soup bowls (Suimono-wan), crafted during the Taisho to Showa period (early to mid-20th century). These exquisite pieces are made of natural wood, finished with a deep, lustrous black "Urushi" (Japanese lacquer). The exterior and the inside of the lids are beautifully decorated using the luxurious "Maki-e" technique (sprinkled gold powder). The motif features a magnificent Phoenix (Houou) flying elegantly among Paulownia (Kiri) leaves and traditional Arabesque (Karakusa) patterns. In Japanese culture, the combination of the Phoenix and Paulownia is considered extremely auspicious and historically associated with nobility and the Imperial family. These bowls are true masterpieces of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, perfect for Asian art collectors or as a highly elegant display piece. [* IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING PHOTOS *] Please carefully note that the bamboo tea whisk (Chasen) shown in the background of the photos is for display and scale purposes only.
