Kutani yaki (Kozan kiln) - Eiho (永峰) - 茶碗 - 石器 - 樱花(樱花)

Item Description Product Overview This is an authentic Kutani-yaki matcha bowl (chawan) titled "Sakura" (Cherry Blossoms). It is beautifully hand-decorated using a distinctive Kutani technique that applies white enamel pigment with thick dimensionality, creating textured petals that are soft and palpable to the touch. Each blossom is accented with delicate touches of polychrome overglaze in teal and gold. The graceful composition is set against a soft, grey-blue celadon-toned glaze, evoking the misty, fresh atmosphere of an early spring day. Design & Form The chawan has a classic, rounded silhouette designed to fit comfortably in the hands. The form features a well-defined unglazed foot ring (kodai) made from reddish-brown stoneware, providing a rustic contrast to the elegant body. The interior is glazed in the same misty grey-blue tone. It comes with its original wooden storage box (tomobako). Size & Weight Height: 7.5 cm Diameter: 11.5 cm Weight: 448 g Condition The bowl is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Minimal age-related patina may be present on the unglazed foot ring, consistent with its vintage character and careful storage. Artist & Origin Origin: Kutani-yaki (Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan) Kiln: Kozan-gama (光山窯) Artist: Eiho (永峰) Markings: The base features a circular stamped potter's mark reading "徹 (Toru)," indicating the craftsman who formed the piece within the Kozan kiln line. This is a wonderful example of vintage Kutani craftsmanship from the latter half of the 20th century. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Shipping & Important Notice [Shipping] Your item will be carefully packaged and shipped from Japan via Japan Post, DHL, or FedEx with a tracking number.
