An original ship’s lantern, manufactured in 1966 in the USSR. The lantern features a sturdy galvanised steel housing, which provided protection against harsh maritime conditions and corrosion. This type of lantern was used to ensure navigational safety and to identify the vessel at night. Optical system: The lantern’s main feature is the Fresnel lens, made from thick-walled ruby-red glass. The lens’s stepped design allows the light flux to be concentrated into a powerful, directional beam, visible from a distance of several nautical miles.
