Large Antique Swedish Painted Wood Tankard (Stånka) - Dalarna, 19th Century An impressive and rare large-scale 19th-century Swedish "stånka" (tankard). This piece is notable for its substantial size and exceptionally detailed polychrome folk art painting in the traditional Dalarna style. Provenance: Previously part of a lot at Bukowskis (Lot 1235652). Dimensions: Height 30 cm, Width (with handle) 28 cm, Base Diameter 24 cm. Construction: Traditional stave construction with willow-bound hoops. Condition: Good antique condition with a magnificent patina. Consistent with its age, there is wear to the wooden hinge plate, but the decorative value and paint preservation are excellent.
