Up for auction is a 1973 Tissot Seastar Automatic with an incredibly rare caramel lacquer dial. It has a deep, liquid-like luster that darkens toward the edges, resulting in a stunning gradient effect. Despite a thorough search, I could only find one sold six years ago. Inside you’ll find a reliable Tissot 2481 movement, which was developed in collaboration with Omega back in the 70s (Omega’s version was the 1481). Combined with an iconic TV case, it’s a rare opportunity to own a piece in a configuration you're unlikely to see again. Condition: Good for its age. The case has some scratches, but overall it’s in good shape and hasn’t lost any of the plating. The dial has started to crack, which is common with lacquer and similar materials.
