Tapio Wirkkala (1915-85) was a Finnish designer and sculptor. Wirkkala's production includes classic glass art objects, glassware, household glasses, as well as product packaging and labels. Wirkkala graduated from the Central Craft School in 1936 and later married the well-known ceramic artist Rut Bryk.
