French Art Deco Orange Marbled Glass Pendant Lamp, ca. 1930s–1940s A highly decorative Art Deco bowl pendant lamp, probably French and dating from the 1930s to 1940s. The lamp hangs from fine metal chains and has a beautiful orange-and-white marbled glass shade, giving a particularly warm and atmospheric glow when lit. The glass is the great attraction here: creamy opaline tones are shot through with vivid orange ''clouds,'' creating a lively, almost molten pattern across the shade. The form is strongly Art Deco, with a broad circular bowl, stepped rings and a pointed lower section that gives the lamp a more sculptural silhouette. It is decorative without becoming heavy, and would work beautifully in a hallway, bedroom or smaller dining space. The lamp has been fitted with a new wire and works with a E27 bulb fitting. The ceiling canopy is brass. The height can be shortened quite easily if required, making it practical for different ceiling heights. A lamp with Art Deco presence.
