这件作品的工艺展现了传统贴金工艺，如钉打与浮雕式装饰细节。据信可归属于意大利北部或阿尔卑斯地区（蒂罗尔影响）。

很可能原本属于祈祷场景中的元素（祭坛前墙画或雕塑群的一部分）。由于原始属性的丢失，无法确切识别其象征意义。
