It is a very rare pattern coin, featuring a complex 21-wave pattern on the reverse, a short-tailed wide design, and a double-struck on the reverse—a very uncommon variety. The Kan'ei Tsūhō coin is known for its complex designs and was a unified currency minted by Japan to counter foreign currencies. Its history is marked by many twists and turns. A characteristic of Japanese ancient coins is that while the name remained unchanged, the design was adjusted, making them difficult to authenticate. At first glance, many appear to be the same Kan'ei Tsūhō, but they are actually different pattern coins. This particular coin, though old, is in excellent condition, a rare variety and a mother coin.
