This is a vintage Suzuki Violin Co., Ltd. mandolin, Model No.208, crafted in 1963 in Nagoya, Japan. Suzuki is a well-known Japanese maker of string instruments, and this example features a classic bowlback (Neapolitan-style) construction with a beautifully striped wooden back. The top shows traditional decorative elements including an ornate pickguard and rosette. The instrument is fitted with eight strings (four courses) and traditional open tuners. It comes with its original hard case lined in red fabric.
