Hon-Satuma vase 本薩摩花瓶 - Japan - Meiji-Taishō period (1900-1920)
Originally, Satsuma ware was made in the Satsuma clan (present-day Kagoshima Prefecture). However, in the mid to late 19th century, when it became popular in Europe, it began to be produced in Kyoto and other places for export (Kyo-satsuma). From then until now, most of the Satsuma ware exported overseas is Kyo-Satsuma.
This vase is a rare one made by the Satsuma clan. The cross in the circle of the sign is the family crest of the Satsuma Domain. Please check pictures.
