Altún Everest, like the mountaineers who challenge the mountain, is a wine born from that same ambition and persistence. The story of this wine began in 2001, when José Antonio Martínez, with the dream of creating a wine as grand as Everest, planted a unique Tempranillo vineyard on an exceptional plot in Rioja Alavesa. The first vine had been planted in 1965, but it was this vineyard, with its extreme conditions and the effort invested in cultivating it, that inspired the creation of a singular wine.
