Superb pair of Vintage Sterling Silver and Black Onyx Cufflinks, likely handcrafted in Hong Kong during the 1950s or 1960s.
Symbolic MeaningThe cufflinks display two traditional Chinese characters that represent popular auspicious wishes:
福 (Fú): Located on the left cufflink, this character translates to Good Fortune, Luck, or Blessing. It is a central symbol in Chinese culture, frequently used to welcome prosperity.壽 (Shòu): Located on the right cufflink, this character represents Longevity or Long Life.
Together, these symbols often convey a complete wish for a life filled with both happiness and long life.
Materials: Sterling silver characters and rope-style borders set against a polished black onyx background.
