Dial and Hands
The dial of this Cronos is a masterclass in mid-century restraint, featuring a delicate silver sunburst finish that catches the light beautifully. The typography is a standout feature, with the elegant cursive Seiko Cronos script positioned below twelve o'clock, complemented by the crisp, sans-serif DIASHOCK 17 JEWELS text above six o'clock. The dial furniture consists of finely polished, applied faceted baton indices, with a distinct double marker at the twelve o'clock position to anchor the layout. Time is indicated by a set of sharp, polished steel dauphine hands that remain in wonderful condition. Under close visual inspection, the dial is exceptionally clean and evenly preserved, showing only the faintest microscopic signs of aging and scattered micro-dust visible under high magnification, remaining entirely free of distracting spots, stains, or moisture damage.

Case and Crystal
The 33 millimeter stainless steel case features a classic, slender dress watch profile with beautifully proportioned straight lugs. The transition between the case flanks and the bezel remains well-defined, showcasing honest signs of wear with light, superficial scratches consistent with careful vintage use, but no deep gouges or signs of heavy over-polishing. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that perfectly complements the vintage aesthetic and remains clear. The snap-on caseback is sharply engraved with CRONOS J14006 on the exterior. The movement displays normal surface wear and light tooling marks from past servicing. Running in vintage operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the era. The timegrapher records a performance of +40 to +45 seconds per day.

Strap
The watch is presented on a handsome dark brown, crocodile-grain leather strap that perfectly complements the silver tones of the dial and case. It is secured with a classic stainless steel tang buckle, providing a comfortable and period-appropriate wearing experience.

This timepiece is in excellent vintage condition. The dial is the clear highlight, remaining stunningly well-preserved with a brilliant sunburst texture and crisp printing. The underlying architecture and design philosophy of the Cronos were so successful that they directly influenced the creation of the first King Seiko in 1961.
