有田瓷花瓶——鹤与青海波纹样,Koransha 制作,附原装盒 - 瓷器 - Koransha (香蘭社) - 日本 - 1900–2000

Item Description 香蘭社 Koransha — Arita Porcelain Vase with Crane and Seigaiha Wave Pattern This exceptional spherical vase is a masterwork of Arita porcelain, produced by the legendary Koransha company of Saga Prefecture, Japan. The piece showcases the brand's signature combination of technical virtuosity and classical Japanese aesthetics in a form of striking visual impact. The body of the vase is entirely enveloped in the traditional seigaiha pattern — an ancient motif of overlapping semicircular scales symbolizing the waves of the sea, rendered in deep cobalt blue against a white porcelain ground. Against this intricate geometric backdrop, elegant Japanese cranes (tsuru) are depicted with exceptional painterly detail: each bird is portrayed from the neck upward, featuring a vivid red crown, ivory-white plumage delicately shaded in brown, and a distinctive turquoise beak. The cranes are arranged at multiple points around the vase, their graceful silhouettes appearing to emerge from stylized cloud forms painted in soft gradated lavender-blue that sweep across the lower half of the body. The neck of the vase is rimmed in polished gold, providing a refined and luxurious accent. The base carries the authentic Koransha blue underglaze mark, and the accompanying original paulownia wood storage box (kiri-bako) is inscribed with the title Hana-tsubo (flower vase) in calligraphic script along with the Koransha company seal. The crane is one of Japan's most revered auspicious symbols, believed to live for a thousand years and traditionally associated with longevity, happiness, and good fortune. Combined with the seigaiha wave motif — itself a symbol of peace and prosperity — this vase represents the finest tradition of Japanese decorative arts. A stunning collector's piece and an exceptional display object for any interior. Comes with the original Koransha paulownia wood box and company pamphlet. Size Height: 21 cm Width: 21 cm Depth: 21 cm Weight 1,552 g Condition The vase is in good overall condition with no chips or cracks; minor surface scuffs and slight storage soiling consistent with age are present, but the painting and gilding remain vivid and intact. Artist Profile Koransha (香蘭社) is one of Japan's most celebrated and historic porcelain manufacturers, founded in Arita, Saga Prefecture — the birthplace of Japanese porcelain — with roots tracing back to 1689 when the first-generation Eizaemon Fukagawa began producing porcelain in the region. The company was formally incorporated in 1875 by Eizaemon Fukagawa VIII and associates, with the goal of producing and exporting fine art ceramics to the world. Koransha rose to international prominence during the Meiji era, winning commendations at the 1876 Philadelphia World Exposition and gold medals at the Paris World Exposition, among numerous other international accolades. Since 1896, Koransha has held the prestigious designation of official purveyor to the Imperial Household Agency of Japan, a distinction it maintains to this day. The company's hallmark aesthetic — known as the "Koransha style" — is characterized by a luminous translucent white porcelain ground, the masterful use of deep cobalt blue underglaze painting, gradated color washes, and meticulous polychrome overglaze enamels, often finished with refined gold accents. Koransha continues to produce all pieces by hand at its own factory in Arita, preserving centuries of craft tradition. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally.
