The 1959 vintage Seiko Cronos J14021 is one of the most historically important “pre–Grand Seiko” Seiko dress watches. It represents the period when Seiko was rapidly evolving from solid domestic watchmaker into a true high-grade precision manufacturer capable of competing internationally. The CRONOS line debuted around 1958 from Seiko’s Daini Seikosha factory and sat above many standard Seiko dress watches of the era. Chronologically and technically, it became one of the direct foundations for the first King Seiko models.

■Condition: Overall: The watch is in good pre-owned vintage condition and is currently in excellent working order.
Case/Metal Band: There are light scratches and signs of wear consistent with normal use over time. It show minor stains and surface micro-scuffs, and signs of wear .
Dial & Crystal: The dial remains in excellent, clean condition, well preserved with clear printing, applied indices, and an attractive texture that has aged gracefully. The crystal shows some minor micro-wear upon close inspection.
Tested by manual winding three times each time during May 10th to20th 2026, the power reserve was 25, 30 and 32 hours respectively.so power reserve remains very good regardless of age-related wear and metal fatigue on the mainspring. despite over 60 years usage. The watch is in excellent good condition overall and still does work precisely, but very careful handling, when winding and setting time, is required due to a real vintage watch. As the movement and lubrication are in good condition, it is suitable for daily wear if wounded and worn regularly. It needs to be wounded at your convenience daily by natural arm movement to keep more accurate time. It was functioning normally at the time of listing, so it should continue to function without any issues.
