Antique, low-silver content torque necklace from Nuristan, Afghanistan. The main design of the center is a spiral spring using only one big metal thread. A second twisted silver thread runs through the spiral, setting this necklace apart from others. ' Collected in the early 1970’s this example is most likely from the early 1930's.
