A superb, large adult Hyphalosaurus lingyuaneasis skeleton on shale/limestone plate.
The plate, which is repaired (as is usual from this site), measures 51cm x 25cm.
The skeleton itself measures 52cm from snout to tail-tip.
Family: Latrosauridae
Age: Late Jurassic, Yixian
Formation: LowerDawang staff layer
Location: Lingyuan, Chaoyang, Liaoning, China
The restored plate has been mounted on a plasterboard panel for stregnth.
These fine skeletons are no longer coming out of China so they have become extremely scarce.
