Released on July 31, 2012, to mark the 40th anniversary of their debut single 'Virginia Plain' featuring 'The Numberer' on the B-side, 'The Complete Studio Recordings' contains the eight studio albums released by Roxy Music between June 1972 and May 1982, plus two CDs of singles, B-sides, and alternative mixes, packaged in a ten-CD box set. The individual albums, from 'Roxy Music' to 'Avalon', are housed in gatefold mini-LP sleeves, while the compilation CDs containing singles and alternative mixes are housed in a gold-colored gatefold mini-double-LP sleeve. The nine sleeves fit securely into a cardboard tray, which then slides into a robust outer slipcase. 'The Complete Studio Recordings' contains 74 tracks, spread across Roxy Music's eight studio albums, plus 32 bonus tracks featuring singles, B-sides, and alternative mixes, totaling 106 songs. All albums reached the UK Top 10, with six reaching the Top 5. The band had a total of sixteen Top 40 singles, ten of which reached the Top 10 and seven the Top 5.
