Up for auction is an old store stock, very rare tin motorless pull-along (so no wind-up or friction) North-West steam locomotive. It has an impressive length of 50 cm. It was made for Strauss & Co (Straco), an US toy-importer, by Heinrich Wimmer of Nuremberg, Western Germany in the mid 50s. There is a kind of bell between the front wheels which does not work any more (if ever). I have only known this toy for the more colorful - and thus more expensive - later friction version with a plastic smoke stack, dating from the late 50s. The toy is in very good condition with some production traces and some minimal paint loss in some places. The trains were packed in a simple cardboard sleeve which shows very obvious age/storage traces. The pictures are part of the description.
