Pair of Thonet Bentwood Chairs with Vienna Cane Seats – Early 20th Century

Elegant pair of original Thonet bentwood chairs, crafted from black lacquered bentwood and featuring the iconic double-loop backrest and woven Vienna cane seats. A timeless design classic, celebrated for its refined proportions, lightness, and enduring aesthetic appeal.

Both chairs retain an attractive period patina, showing age-related wear consistent with their history. The Vienna cane seats are generally well preserved.

Condition:

* One chair is structurally sound and ready for use.
* The second chair shows visible signs of historic woodworm activity, including several wormholes in the wooden structure. It is also not fully stable and would benefit from professional restoration to restore full structural integrity.
* Surface wear, scratches, and minor lacquer losses are present, consistent with age and use, as shown in the photographs.

Thonet mark visible beneath the seat.
