賣家描述
ORÖBR No. 209 Clockwork Road Roller – German Tinplate Toy – c. 1920s – Working
Rare and highly collectible German tinplate clockwork road roller manufactured by ORÖBR (Oro Werke, Germany) during the first half of the 20th century.
This attractive steam roller retains its original lithographed decoration in red, green and cream colours and is fitted with its original clockwork mechanism. The toy has been tested and remains in working condition, running smoothly when wound.
Unlike many surviving examples, this piece remains remarkably complete and displays very well. The lithography is still vibrant, with only moderate age-related wear consistent with nearly a century of age.
A desirable example of early German mechanical toy production from the golden age of tinplate toys.
Specifications:
• Manufacturer: ORÖBR (Germany)
• Model: No. 209
• Type: Clockwork Road Roller / Steam Roller
• Material: Lithographed tinplate
• Period: circa 1920–1930
• Mechanism: Clockwork (working)
• Length: 18 cm
• Width: 8 cm
• Height: 10 cm
Condition:
Good original condition.
The toy retains its original lithography and mechanical movement. General age-related wear, minor paint loss, light scratches and small marks from use and storage. The clockwork mechanism has been tested and functions correctly. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
A scarce and attractive German tinplate toy that would make an excellent addition to any collection of antique mechanical toys, early tinplate vehicles or German toy manufacturing history.
