Islamic Stamp Seal – Islamic World – 10th to 13th Century AD A finely cast bronze stamp seal featuring a circular stamping face engraved with an intricate geometric rosette composed of intersecting lines radiating from a central point. The seal is mounted on a mushroom-shaped handle with a suspension perforation, allowing it to be carried or suspended when not in use. Such objects were employed throughout the medieval Islamic world for administrative, commercial, and personal identification purposes. The engraved design reflects the geometric artistic traditions characteristic of Islamic decorative culture, where abstract and symmetrical motifs were widely preferred. The piece displays an attractive dark green and brown patina developed over centuries, together with surface wear consistent with age and use.
