C. brevirostris was an extinct pig species from the late Miocene of eastern Asia. It belonged to a small endemic lineage of fossil suids known from northern China and neighboring regions of Russia. Fossil evidence suggests that this animal had a short skull, primitive dentition, and a digging-adapted snout, indicating a lifestyle different from that of modern pigs.
