Christofle – Antique Oil and Vinegar Cruet Set – France, circa 1862–1867

A refined and authentic French oil and vinegar cruet set by the prestigious Maison Christofle, Paris, dating to the Second Empire period (circa 1862–1867).

The elegant silver-plated stand bears the renowned Christofle hallmark with the intertwined “CC” and balance mark, used during the mid-19th century. The set is fitted with its original pair of beautifully etched crystal cruets, each retaining its original hand-blown stopper. The decoration features a classic Greek Key (Méandre) motif, a timeless ornamental pattern widely appreciated in French decorative arts.

Designed to grace the finest dining tables of the era, this huilier-vinaigrier perfectly illustrates the exceptional craftsmanship and elegance for which Christofle became internationally renowned.
