A fine antique Buddhist or Hindu helmet-shaped ritual bronze temple bell (Ghanta). Java, early 16th century. Cast in the form of a stupa with a tiered handle, crowned with a floral bud and a loop ring. Decorated with a floral band above the helmet-shaped bell. The bronze has a beautiful natural old patina, with green malachite encrustations. The inside is covered with a thick black patina.
