This elegant incense vessel carries auspicious meanings, ideal for Japanese-style interior display, desk decoration, and collection of modern Takaoka copperware. Modelled after a traditional Japanese fortune bag, it features a plump, rounded body with soft lines. The surface is adorned with embossed rope patterns, with distinct layers and fine details. A vivid snail finial sits on the lid, a classic Japanese auspicious symbol representing blessings and prosperity. Three child figurines serve as legs. Exquisitely carved and ingeniously designed, they keep the piece stable while enhancing its ornamental value. The base bears the artist’s studio mark, confirming its authentic handmade origin. Handwritten inscriptions inside the original paulownia tomobako, paired with the artist’s profile booklet, ensure complete and verifiable provenance. Suga Tsukiyoshi is the third-generation artisan of a long-established Takaoka copper crafting family.
