Rare gold Viertelduplone from the Canton of Solothurn, struck in 1789 during the Ancien Régime period shortly before the French revolutionary intervention.

Obverse: Crowned oval coat of arms of Solothurn flanked by palm branches. Legend: RESPUBLICA SOLODORENSIS.
Reverse: Standing St. Ursus in full knight's armor holding a banner and sword on a ground line. Legend: S·URSUS· MART· 1789·.
Condition: About Uncirculated to Choice Uncirculated (Vorzüglich-FDC). Displays exceptionally crisp design elements, deep underlying luster, and sharp rim beads.
