碗 - 瓷器 - 五彩瓷碗

A Chinese Early Qing Fujian Kiln Wucai Dragon Bowl, Transitional Period, c.1650–1700 This attractive porcelain bowl was produced at a Fujian provincial kiln during the Transitional Period of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The exterior is vividly decorated with a powerful dragon painted in iron-red, yellow and green enamels, depicted amongst scrolling clouds in pursuit of the flaming pearl. The bold brushwork and vibrant palette are characteristic of Fujian kiln production and reflect the lively decorative traditions of southern China’s export ceramics. The bowl is covered with a soft bluish-white glaze and displays the robust potting and freely executed decoration associated with provincial kiln wares of the period. Such dragon designs symbolised power, protection, prosperity and good fortune, making them among the most popular motifs in Chinese ceramic art. Diameter: 16.6 cm Condition: One small chip to the rim, together with minor kiln imperfections and age-related wear consistent with a 17th-century provincial kiln porcelain. No restoration observed. A charming and authentic example of early Qing Fujian export ware, combining bold decoration, historical significance and strong decorative appeal.
