非常精美的画作《Beauty Awaiting Spring》,署名——并附带 tomobako。 - 絲 - Horii Koha (1897-1990) - 日本 - 昭和初期

The combination of a beauty at a window, ume and a nightingale (uguisu) stems from a classic East Asian artistic and poetic motif. It represents the harmony of spring, romantic longing, and the awakening of nature. In Japanese and Chinese poetry, the image of a beautiful woman gazing out of her window connects the melancholy of waiting (often for a distant lover) with the arrival of the new season. This is frequently depicted in traditional scrolls where a beauty is framed by ume branches. In classical traditions, the ume (plum blossom) and the nightingale are inextricably linked. Because ume blossoms are the first to bloom at the end of winter — often emerging even through the snow — they symbolize resilience and hope. The nightingale (also known as the Japanese bush warbler or uguisu) is historically celebrated as the first herald of spring. Including tomobako. roller end: ceramic Measurements: Scroll: 180 x 52 cm Very good condition, there are signs of wear due to age and normal use, stains, marks, scratches; please, see pictures for actual condition.
