07. ACCA MS-67 EPQ 1961~1967
07. ACCA MS-67 EPQ 1961-1967 Egyptian 1-pound Pharaoh banknote, 5 consecutive serial numbers. Tutankhamun (1341-1323 BC) was a pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt (reigned approximately 1332-1323 BC). His original name was Tutankhaten, meaning "image of Aten," later changed to Tutankhamun, meaning "image of Amun," reflecting his shift in faith from Aten to Amun. Due to the controversy surrounding his father and Tutankhamun's early death, he was rarely mentioned or recorded in later accounts of ancient Egypt, yet he became the most well-known pharaoh in modern times. These factors allowed his tomb in the Valley of the Kings to remain undisturbed for three thousand years until it was discovered in 1922 by the British explorer Howard Carter, who unearthed nearly five thousand funerary objects, the vast treasures of which astonished the Western world. Because several of the first people to enter the tomb died young, the media sensationalized it as the "Curse of the Pharaohs," making Tutankhamun's name even more widely known in the West. One explanation for this "curse" is that the tomb's long-term sealing fostered bacteria, causing the first people to fall ill. This is a rare set of high-grade banknotes; collectors who appreciate this art should not miss it.
