賣家描述
elegant three-piece set of molded crystal perfume bottles from Baccarat, from the collection “Bambous Tors” listed in the 1916 catalog. The lot brings together models no. 222, no. 160 and no. 106, each with its original matching stopper. This ensemble perfectly illustrates Baccarat’s decorative refinement at the beginning of the 20th century, where crystal’s transparency is enhanced by a mold work inspired by twisted bamboo stalks.
The three bottles feature a cylindrical silhouette with slightly sloped shoulders and a straight neck finished by a flared lip. Their decoration consists of deep helicoidal ribs evoking spiraling bamboos, alternating polished reliefs and hollows that remarkably catch the light. The spherical stoppers reproduce the same twisted motif, ensuring perfect aesthetic continuity with the bottles’ bodies. Despite their different dimensions, the three models retain harmonious proportions and demonstrate a great drawing coherence.
The set is in good overall condition. The crystal remains clear and luminous, with no notable alteration of its transparency. Noted however: a chip on the inner edge of the stopper of the largest bottle, a chip at the neck of the medium bottle, and a chip on the inner face of the stopper of the smallest bottle. These flaws are discreet in presentation and do not affect the ensemble’s elegance.
In the early 20th century, Baccarat established itself as one of the most prestigious European crystal manufacturers, combining technical excellence with rich ornamentation. The “Bambous Tors” collection, reproduced in the 1916 catalog, illustrates this period when the manufactory developed stylized naturalistic décors achieved through highly precise molding. Intended for toilet necessities and dressing table services, these bottles reflect the Belle Époque taste for precious everyday objects, where crystal quality serves a decor that is at once sober and sophisticated.
Dimensions are:
- Total height: 16.5 > 12.5 > 10.5 centimeters,
- Width: 5.9 > 4.6 > 4.2 centimeters,
- Total weight of the set: 750 grams.
Each of the three bottles will be individually packed and the three stoppers packed separately. The set will be shipped promptly in secure packaging. On-site pickup and combined delivery are available. The photos are part of the description.
