Viking bronze necklace 9th-11th century A.D. A fine Viking bronze necklace, formed as a round-section hoop with a twisted body. The ends are shaped into opposed clasp elements. The twisted decoration extends around most of the hoop, with a smoother section near the central section. The necklace is in excavated condition, with age-related surface wear, green and brown patina, encrustation, and minor distortions, yet retaining a clear and attractive wearable form.
