纯银部落臂圈 Banjara / Rabari - Rajasthan - 201 g - 銀 - 印度 - 20世紀初

This stunning piece is an authentic antique Indian "Gokhru" (or Gokharu) tribal defence cuff. Originating from the late 19th to early 20th century, these cuffs were worn by nomadic tribal women—most notably the Banjara, Rabari, and Kalbelia communities of Rajasthan, Northwestern India, as well as parts of neighbouring Pakistan. At 201 grams, it represents an exceptionally substantial amount of high-purity solid silver. This significant weight was a direct marker of wealth, security, and prestige within nomadic communities. A Weapon of Defence: Beyond pure ornamentation, these cuffs are often referred to by jewellery historians as defence jewellery. Nomadic women traversing treacherous trade or desert routes wore these heavy, protruding spikes as a functional deterrent against physical assault or wildlife attacks True Antique Patina: The dark, oxidised finish nestled inside the deep engravings is an authentic aged patina, highly prized by collectors of high-end bohemian and heritage ethnic jewellery Feature: Traditional Name - Gokhru (named after the spiked Tribulus terrestris pod) Cultural Origin - Banjara / Rabari / Kalbelia Tribes (Rajasthan, India) Era - Circa Late 19th to Early 20th Century Metal & Weight - High-purity Solid Silver (typically ~90-95%), 201g Primary Purpose - Adornment, Wealth Storage, and Personal Protection
