This is a copper chrysanthemum vase used as a commemorative item for the Japanese Imperial Family. Cast by Hōun, it is presumably a work from the Showa period. The vase is made using traditional bronze casting techniques, resulting in a rich and smooth bronze glaze. The front of the vase is decorated with sixteen three-dimensional chrysanthemum petals, and an inscription is engraved on the base.
