Asakura Isokichi III – "Bird Among Resonant Leaves" Kutani Ware Porcelain Vase – Signed – With Original Wooden Box

Product Overview

An elegant Kutani ware porcelain vase by Asakura Isokichi III (Third Generation), titled "Bird Among Resonant Leaves" (葉韻に鳥).

The rounded bottle-shaped body is finished in a rich turquoise-green glaze and decorated with a charming blue bird resting among stylized maple leaves in relief. The harmonious combination of sculptural carving, vivid overglaze enamels, and graceful composition reflects the refined decorative aesthetics of modern Kutani ware.

The vase bears the artist's signature on the base and is accompanied by its original wooden storage box bearing the title of the work.

Product Details

This work exemplifies the mature style of Asakura Isokichi III, an accomplished Kutani ceramic artist who combined traditional Kutani techniques with contemporary artistic expression.

The softly rounded form provides an ideal canvas for the flowing composition. Carved maple leaves create depth and movement, while the delicately painted blue bird becomes the focal point against the luminous turquoise glaze. The relief carving enhances the three-dimensional quality of the design, producing a subtle interplay of light and shadow across the surface.

The poetic title, "Bird Among Resonant Leaves," evokes the quiet beauty of nature. Suitable both as a flower vase and as a display piece, this work represents the refined craftsmanship and artistic elegance of modern Kutani porcelain.
