Two well-used wooden doorlocks, used on shutters that close the mudbrick granary sheds. These sheds store the harvest of grain and beans. The largest lock is of Bambara origin and may represent a stylised tortoise. Nice dark patina. Dim.; 36 x 43 cm. The smaller lock is of Dogon origin and also represents a stylised tortoise. Nice decorations on the body. Nice brown patina. Dim.; 29 x 29 cm. Collected in Mali in the late 1990,s.
