Edition No. 4 is a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky released in July 2018. It is the fourth entry in the distillery's highly celebrated six-part "Edition Series". This specific bottle was created as a tribute to the structural design and engineering of The Macallan's new £140 million subterranean distillery in Speyside.

Packaging Color: Bright Green (designed to reflect the innovative green roof of the new distillery).

Cask Composition: Crafted using a precise combination of 7 different types of European and American oak casks, heavily focusing on first-fill, sherry-seasoned oak from renowned cooperages like Tevasa and Vasyma.

Tasting Profile

Color: Burnished copper.

Nose: Bold and rich. It opens with intense honey, sweet toffee, and citrus zest, backed by underlying notes of nutmeg, ginger, and mature oak.

Palate: Structurally robust and oily. It tastes strongly of sherry-soaked raisins, dark chocolate, vanilla, and warm gingerbread spice.

Finish: Medium-to-long, very warming, with lingering notes of cinnamon, sweet oak, and a twist of lemongrass.

Seven types of European and American oak casks were used for maturation. Lively on the nose, with orange, malt, sherry, and sweet oak. Initially, a touch hot on the palate, with sherry and cloves, then toffee and vanilla, red apples, figs, and cocoa. The finish is medium to long, with spicy sherry.
