Decorative collection of six vintage lacquered boxes in various sizes, shapes and designs. The boxes are finished in black lacquer and decorated with colourful floral, elephant and figurative motifs. Several examples appear to be hand-painted papier-mâché lacquerware in an Indian or Kashmir style. One box is marked “Made in Russia” and features a traditional figurative scene. The remaining five boxes are unmarked, so their exact maker and country of origin cannot be confirmed. The interiors are finished in black or red lacquer. The different dimensions and decorative styles make this an attractive and varied display collection.
