The matching black stick hands are well-preserved, showing only light surface wear and minor oxidation visible under magnification, complementing the dial furniture perfectly.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case retains its preserved geometry, featuring a thin polished bezel and brushed and polished lugs. The surfaces show honest vintage wear, with moderate scratches and handling marks consistent with its age. The exterior caseback features a factory engraving, while the inner caseback is correctly stamped with Omega branding and the reference number. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, remaining clear with some light surface scratches visible at certain angles. The watch is fitted with an Omega-signed crown that shows moderate wear to the knurling.

History
The Omega Genève line was introduced as a tribute to the brand's exacting standards and the watchmaking heritage of Geneva. By the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Genève collection accounted for a significant portion of Omega's output, offering elegant, reliable, and versatile timepieces for daily wear. The Caliber 601 is highly regarded by collectors as a robust and beautifully finished manual wind movement from Omega's golden era of mechanical watchmaking.
