69. ACCA MS-65 日本造幣局第113次製造貨幣大試驗紀念章-雅典娜
日本造幣局從明治時期開始，每年都會舉行「製造貨幣大試驗」，就是把一年內生產的硬幣抽檢、試打、檢驗品質的儀式。第113次就是1984年那一次，為了紀念這個試驗而做的紀念章，這年的主題是 Athena 雅典娜，是一枚非常大型的章，浮雕完整，光澤漂亮，章的正面是希臘神話中智慧與戰爭女神 雅典娜 Athena 的側面頭像，她戴著高大的科林斯式頭盔，頭盔上有精細的羽冠紋，頭盔的護頰和盔體上還裝飾著獅身人面像、獅鷲等神獸，這是19世紀末到20世紀歐洲造幣廠最喜歡用的新古典主義風格，同系列還有其他希臘、羅馬神話人物，因為鑄造量少、工藝好，在日本的紀念章收藏裡算是很受歡迎的精品。
69. ACCA MS-65 Japan Mint 113th Coinage Trial Commemorative Medal - Athena
Since the Meiji era, the Japan Mint has held an annual “Coinage Trial,” where coins produced throughout the year are sampled, test-struck, and inspected for quality. The 113th trial took place in 1984, and a commemorative medal was created for it. That year’s theme was Athena. It’s a very large medal with complete relief and a beautiful shine. The front shows a side profile of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war from Greek mythology. She wears a tall Corinthian helmet decorated with a detailed feather crest, and both the cheek guards and the helmet body have embellishments of mythical creatures like sphinxes and griffins. This is a neoclassical style popular in European mints from the late 19th to early 20th century. The series also includes other figures from Greek and Roman mythology. Due to its limited mintage and high craftsmanship, it’s considered a highly sought-after piece in Japanese commemorative medal collections.
