Breitling - 'Old Navitimer' - Automatic Chronograph - UTC Module - Never Worn - Ref. No: A13022 - 男士 - 1990-1999

Welcome to my Top Swiss Chronograps Boutique! Breitling S.A. was founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling. It's known for precision-made chronometers designed for aviators. In 1952, Willy Breitling was approached by the world’s largest pilots’ club, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), and asked to create a new chronograph for its members. His answer was the Navitimer—a wrist-worn instrument that would enable pilots to perform all necessary flight calculations, including average speed, distance traveled, fuel consumption, rate of climb or descent, and conversion of miles to kilometers or nautical miles. At that time, all these calculations required a logarithmic slide rule. To create it, Willy adapted the original logarithmic slide rule of the 1940s Chronomat for aviation purposes and integrated it into a rotating bezel, surrounded by small beads to make it easier to manipulate. At 41mm, the case was unusually large for the time, ensuring maximum legibility. Oversized Arabic numerals coated with luminescent radium provided excellent contrast against the black dial. The name “Navitimer”—a combination of “navigation” and “timer”—perfectly captured the essence of the pilot’s tool watch. The original version designed for AOPA bore no Breitling branding on the dial and was exclusively distributed to AOPA members. In late 1955, the Navitimer was released to the public with the Breitling name and a stylized winged logo distinct from the AOPA version. In the late 1960s, watch wearers had to choose between an automatic watch and a chronograph, but no one had yet found a way to put the two together. To overcome this challenge, Breitling began the ambitious and visionary development of creating one of the first automatic mechanical chronograph calibers. Developed in partnership with Heuer-Leonidas and Hamilton-Buren and Dubois-Depraz, the Breitling Chrono-matic was launched on March 3, 1969 offering two timepieces in one, a mechanical automatic watch and a chronograph—changing watchmaking history forever. For over 70 years, the Navitimer has been beloved by aviators and tastemakers in equal measure. Worn by an astronaut in space and the biggest stars on Earth, it is Breitling’s most iconic timepiece. Once a tool for charting a pilot's course, now a companion for all those plotting their personal journeys through life. The Breitling A13022 is one of the most desirable vintage-modern Navitimers. It belongs to the Old Navitimer family and was produced mainly during the 1993–2002 period, with most examples dating from 1994–2000. Movement: - automatic Breitling calibre 13 - based on ETA Valjoux 7750, the famous "workhorse" - power-reserve 42 hours - 25 jewels - frequency: 28.800 A/h, 4 Hz Case: - 316L stainless steel - polished - 41,5mm excl. crown, 43,9mm incl. - thickness: 14,1mm - length: 47,5mm lug to lug - unique No: 2** (for buyer only), best proof of authenticity Crystal: - anti-reflective sapphire Dial: - "reverse panda", one of the most desirable configurations - date aperture at 03:00 o'clock - circular slide rule bezel - polished luminous hands - polished hour markers - luminous Arabic numerals - three white chronograph sub-dials: small-seconds at 09:00 o'clock 12 hours counter at 06:00 o'clock AM/PM at 09:00 o'clock 30 min. totalizer at 12:00 o'clock - minutes and seconds markers around inner rim Bezel: - 316L stainless steel - polished - fluted - bidirectional rotating - info inside Pull/push crown: - 316L stainless steel - polished - Breitling raised logo shield - two polished chronograph pushers Case-back: - 316L stainless steel - polished with engravings Bracelet: - genuine Breitling Pilot Navitimer - 316L stainless steel - polished - length: ca. 19cm incl. wristwatch itself - width: 22mm by lugs, 18mm by clasp - the bracelet's finely articulated links allow it to wrap naturally around the wrist, making it exceptionally comfortable to wear Folding clasp: - 316L stainless steel - polished - Breitling logo Weight: 140 grams Water resistant to 30meter/3ATM/100feet: OK for light splashes, rain, hand-washing; highly risky for showering or swimming. Extremelly high recognition value. Distinctive wellknown super design. Breitling travel watch box (see pics) Excellent condition, never worn: the wristwatch comes from Breitling watch-shop showcase. As this watch spent decades being placed on a display stand each morning and removed again each evening, the case back naturally acquired microscopic hairline marks over the course of nearly 30 years. During our pre-sale preparation, we therefore gave the case back a very light professional polish to eliminate these superficial traces of handling, while preserving the watch's overall originality. General professional pre-sale service was made in July 2026: the watch is keeping good time and working perfectly. My personal authenticity and quality warranty: you will get warranty card (as pictured), fully completed, stamped and signed. My impeccable seller reputation speaks for itself: look at my feedbacks and sales ratings. Insured, registered shipping worldwide with International Express service: it’s not cheap, and yet fast and reliable, two days in Europe, three days for the rest of this world. What you see is what you get. These are my own photos of the actual watch up for auction. NO EXTRA COSTS for EU Buyers! Pay attention to the dial: this is the most desirable configurations. On original Navitimer Pilot steel bracelet with a second mini-watch, the proposed version is the most commercially viable as an investment.
