This is a commemorative bronze vase with a chrysanthemum design, made in Heisei 9. It was preserved as a commemorative item for those who had received imperial honors. The vase is a classic long-necked celestial globe vase. The body is decorated with a turning technique that creates layers of spiraling bands, and the surface is finished with a bluish-green metallic glaze, giving it a rich and layered sheen. The belly of the vase is adorned with a gilded sixteen-petaled chrysanthemum motif, a highly representative traditional Japanese design. A commemorative mark is inscribed on the base. The vase is in excellent condition; the glaze is intact and undamaged, with no obvious chips or peeling.
